For a phenomenal business owner with a world class vision, he needed to express that vision with visuals that connected beyond what the eye could see. His was the language of how he could serve his community, represented succinctly and without dilution.

Discovery

What was scheduled as a twenty minute meeting blossomed into an hour-long discussion about life, business, philosophy and ideas. The words exchanged revealed to me an insight about the people of this brand; the essence of what they do and how they do it. These visuals were not inspired by any business objective, but by the legacy that the client plans to leave for his family and the ones he loves.

Armed with that insight, the discovery session lead to three main ideas. These would be represented through symbols of community, people, fluidity to adapt to any situation and the strength of family. Over the next few days, the sketches and poetry of this brand began to evolve, producing something that we were all proud to call our own.

Concept

Of the three concepts, this one was chosen. The theme behind this was entitled ‘The Threads of the People.’ It represents the thread of family, community and society that weave us all together. The colours are warm and energetic while balanced by the blue green tone that highlights it. The power of this symbol is in its versatility. Guided by a vision of a versatile brand that touches everything from groceries to electronics, the symbol needed to have the fluidity to be applied to any industry.

By developing a concept first, and a visual representation of that concept, it gives the brand a cornerstone from which to grow. The thread elements are designed to be patterned across both small and large formats, blessing everything it touches with the beliefs of the brand.

Final Product

What came¬†together in the end was the seed of an iconic brand; a concept much deeper than just a logo. We look forward to more of those discussions on life and ideas, but for now, we’re happy to reminisce on a job well done.
